SAN ANTONIO -- A civilian employee working for the Bexar County Sheriff's Office was arrested and charged with child sex crimes.
According to the agency, Jose Angel Laines, 44, is accused of aggravated sexual assault and indecency with a child by contact.
Laines has been employed with BCSO since 2004.
"The disturbing allegations against this 14-year employee go back to at least a decade. We are glad our Warrants team was able to get him into custody. We have already initiated termination proceedings and we stand ready to assist SAPD with whatever they may need," said Sheriff Javier Salazar in a statement.
Laines was arrested by the San Antonio Police Department. They will handle the criminal investigation while BCSO conducts its own administrative investigation into the matter.
Laines is in the Bexar County Jail on a $75,000 bond for each charge.
