Bexar County detention officer accused of sexually assaulting young girl

A Bexar County Sheriff's detention officer at the Bexar County Jail has been accused of sexually assaulting a child.

Detention Officer Clayton Saunders was placed on administrative leave late Wednesday and a no-contact order was issued. Sources tell us he allegedly sexually assaulted a young girl. She was taken to the hospital early this morning for testing. The Bexar County Sheriff's Office released the following statement:

Detention Officer Clayton Saunders was placed on Administrative Leave and a no-contact order was issued today, January 24, 2018.
Bexar County Sheriff’s Office criminal investigators are working jointly with SAPD and Child Protective Services in their respective investigations, and BCSO Internal Affairs is conducting a separate but concurrent administrative investigation.

Authorities did not confirm the age of the child. The case remains under investigation.
