Baseball team severs ties with player after release of domestic violence video
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas —
(KRIS) -- A domestic violence incident involving a former Texas minor league baseball player was caught on tape.
The Lancaster Barnstormers released the video and announced on their Facebook page that they've severed ties with Danry Vasquez.
The video shows a man, identified as Vasquez, and a woman walking into a stairwell and heading down the stairs, when suddenly, the man strikes the woman with his left hand, hitting her in the face.
WARNING: Video may be disturbing to some viewers.
The video continues to shows the woman being hit twice, then her hair is pulled and the two walk down the stairs, where she is hit a third time.
The incident occurred in 2016 at the Whataburger field where Vasquez was a player for the Corpus Christi Hooks.
