30 pounds of marijuana found hidden in suitcases during Winters traffic stop

30 pounds of marijuana and 461 grams of THC oil were found April 22 during a traffic stop in Winters (Winters Police Department)

Winters police seized a bunch of marijuana during a traffic stop over the weekend.

Sgt. John Mills told KTXS they stopped a Ford F-150 on Hwy 153 about 1 a.m. Sunday for going 71-mph in a 60-mph zone.

The officer “detected a strong smell of marijuana and conducted a probable cause search.”

Police found two suitcases containing 30 pounds of marijuana and 461 grams of THC oil. The suspects had tried to conceal the smell with towels and dryer sheets, according to Mills.
