3-year-old boy killed in drive-by shooting on Southside identified
SAN ANTONIO —
Police are investigating what led to the fatal shooting of a 3-year-old Saturday night.
Officers were called to Southwest General Hospital for a child with a gunshot wound. When officers arrived, the child's family said they were in their car at New Laredo Highway and Briggs Ave when a car suddenly opened fire on them.
Three-year-old Rene Blancas was in the backseat of the family's car and hit in the head by a bullet. The family took him to Southwest General Hospital for treatment, but he was later airlifted to University Hospital where he died of his injuries.
Police are now searching for a gold or beige 4-door 2000 model Honda Civic in connection to the capital murder last night.
