A Bexar County Grand Jury has returned a second indictment against former nurse Genene Jones, this time for the death of a 2-year-old girl.

In a news release Wednesday morning, the Bexar County District Attorney's Office said the grand jury returned a true bill of indictment against Jones for the September 16, 1981 murder of 2-year-old Rosemary Vega. Jones was indicated last month for the December 12, 1981 murder of 11-month-old Joshua Sawyer.

Jones, who has been called the "Angel of Death," was convicted of murder for the death of one baby, but was accused of killing dozens of others in the San Antonio area back in the early 80's.

The Grand Jury has recommended Jones’ bond be set at $1 million for the latest indictment.

Jones is set to be released from prison in March of 2018. Prior to her mandatory release, however, she will be extradited back to Bexar County to await trial for the new charges. Jones is currently in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Lane Murray Unit in Gatesville, Texas.
