Transgender influencer and activist Dylan Mulvaney shared a sponsored post promoting Bud Light and it caused outrage for many social media users, including Country singer Travis Tritt.
The Grammy-award winner tweeted Wednesday that he will be deleting all Anheuser-Busch products from his tour hospitality rider and that he knows many other artists who are doing the same.
“In full disclosure, I was on a tour sponsored by Budweiser in the 90’s. That was when Anheuser-Busch was American owned. A great American company that later sold out to the Europeans and became unrecognizable to the American consumer. Such a shame,” tweeted Tritt.
Conservative personalities accuse the brewer of catering to “woke culture” and many are boycotting the beer and its product company.
Kid Rock also showed his outrage by sharing a video on Twitter wearing a MAGA hat and shooting the beer cans with Pride colors.
Mulvaney has been outspoken about the negativity she receives from being a transgender public figure.
“There is so much hatred directing to the trans community right now, it’s everywhere and I think the greatest weapon I can contribute is trans joy and comedy and talking about hard subjects, and really intricate moments of a transition and try to let everyone in to see that I’m not a monster. I’m not somebody that is trying to do anything but be myself and be happy,” Mulvaney said at Drew Barrymore Show.
Anheuser-Busch defends its paid promotion with Mulvaney. The beverage company said the commemorative beer can was a “personal” gift for Mulvaney and not for public sale.
