AUSTIN, Texas — Even as restaurants across Texas are allowed to reopen in a limited capacity on Friday amid the coronavirus pandemic, those that have offered alcohol-to-go will be allowed to continue those sales, according to the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.
And, according to a tweet by Gov. Greg Abbott, that service may just become permanent.
Gov. Abbott tweeted "Alcohol-to-go sales can continue after May 1. From what I hear from Texans, we may just let this keep on going forever."

On Monday, Abbott issued an executive order announcing restaurants would be allowed to open, but limit capacity to 25% of their listed occupancy.
