SAN ANTONIO -- One of my favorite things to do is hand out Blue Plate awards to restaurant owners who work their tails off to make sure your food is made in a clean kitchen.
The winner goes to an Indian food restaurant near the Medical Center area called India Palace on Fredericksburg road on the northwest side.
They're known for their modern interpretation of classic dishes, but you can't mistake the authenticity when you walk in the door.
The smell of cumin and curry and freshly baked naan bread in a tandoori oven are heavenly.
Everything is so fresh, dishes like the Saag Paneer, it has spinach and huge chunks of cheese and I'm told it's best on a piece of naan and it's good!
So is the Chicken Tikka Masala and Tandoori Chicken.
This is India Palace's second blue plate -- and the owner is grateful for this one, too... "I just want to thank News 4 for this award and my staff for working hard and keeping the kitchen clean. Thank you!
Congratulations, guys, and thanks for keeping your kitchen squeaky clean!"
