SAN ANTONIO- A 24-year-old woman was shot to death after roller skating down the street on the city's Northeast Side, according to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were called out to the 7600 block of Tarrasa Wednesday afternoon where they found Giovanna Barrera.

Sheriff Javier Salazar said in a press conference that deputies found the young woman in her car. They found she had been shot in the chest and had died.

Sheriff Salazar said a male suspect shot Barrera. There was also another woman suspect involved. Both fled in a black Chevy HHR with "distinctive after-market rims."

The shooting happened near FM78 and Walzem Road, according to Sheriff Javier Salazar.

The woman was not involved in a "high-risk lifestyle," though there was clearly an intent to kill her, Sheriff Salazar also said.
