Canyon Lake using Facebook to fight crime
Its called the hidden treasure of the Hill Country, but that treasure is being wiped out by criminals some Canyon Lake residents say.

CANYON LAKE, Texas - In December a woman was kidnapped and tortured. On New Years Day a 69-year old man was found murdered. His own grandson is accused of the crime.
I was shocked. I was just shocked, said Canyon Lake resident Debbie England. What drives somebody to do that?
Recent crime in Canyon Lake has driven Debbie to turn to social media as her weapon to fight back. She has set up a Facebook page titled Take Back Canyon Lake. So far the page has generated 700 likes, enough to prompt a community meeting on crime set for January, 30th.
I want to take back our pride in Canyon Lake. Get involved. Its not just one persons job. Its not my job. Its everybodys. You live here. Get involved, England said. I love Canyon Lake. I love everything about it.
England has lived in Canyon Lake for more than twenty years. Its a place where she owns a business and raised two sons.
"I think its one of the prettiest places in Texas, and I think its worth it for us to fight for it to make it a better way of life, she said.
