Michael Locklear joined News 4 San Antonio as a reporter in 2015.
He came to the Alamo City from Boise, Idaho, where he reported and produced at KBOI. Michael covered one of the country's largest wildfires in 2015 as well as Bowe Bergdahl, whose hometown is in Idaho, before the soldier gained national attention.
The Idaho Press Club awarded him first place in two categories - consumer report and TV writing - for putting keychain alcohol detectors to the test.
Michael graduated with a broadcast journalism degree from Ohio University, where he reported, anchored and produced at WOUB. He worked at the Ohio Statehouse during the 2012 election season, focusing on state government and politics in addition to the presidential campaigns of Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.
Michael recently learned to ski, although that won't do him much good in the Lone Star State. He'll have to stick to hiking and camping.
