San Antonio native & olympian Justin Olsen does push-ups after emergency appendectomy
SAN ANTONIO —
USA Bobsled pilot Justin Olsen, who calls San Antonio home, appears to be on the mend following an emergency appendectomy Monday.
He posted a short video on Twitter, showing him knocking out pushups like nothing’s happened, writing “ First workout post surgery: 15 dynamic warm-up + Pushups & light care … stretching.”
The 30-year-old Army Sergeant also tweeted he feels “lucky, loved, scared, hopeful, thankful, hungry, optimistic and focused” and extended thanks for warm wishes.
In a press release sent Monday, the USA Bobsled and Skeleton CEO said they hope Justin will recover to compete in the two-man race, which is slated for February 18th.
This is the third Olympics for the O’Connor high school graduate. He won gold in 2010.
