Ex-NBA guard claims Kawhi Leonard doesn't want to be in S.A.
Another day and another person chiming in on the saga between the San Antonio Spurs and Kawhi Leonard.
There's no need no rehash what is exactly going on with Leonard and the Spurs. It has been reported constantly, almost daily and by now everyone knows what's going on.
However, it seems former NBA guard Nate Robinson knows the reason for the on-going situation and it has everything to do with living in the Alamo City.
Robinson (along with former NBA forward Carlos Boozer) discussed Kawhi on their podcast "HOLDAT" and Nate claims a little birdie told him exactly what's going on.
"From what I heard, from a little birdie, what I heard that the reason why he doesn't, not that he doesn't want to play, is that he doesn't want to be in San Antonio no more, is because that I heard a big bag was coming. But if he doesn't leave San Antonio that bag is not coming."
San Antonio is a great organization but a lot of people don't want to live in San Antonio. Honestly bro, a lot of that plays a part for a lot of guys in the NBA.
Believe you me, he definitely wants to be somewhere especially like being at home.
Robinson claims heading back home to California is the likely result for Leonard should he part ways with the team and that "big bag" he refers to could be the shoe deal situation with Jordan Brand.
Nate does praise the Spurs, and playing for Gregg Popovich as reasons why Kawhi would stay but does defend Leonard for taking care of his body and looking out for his future.
Keep in mind, if Kawhi really wants a "big bag" of money, only the Spurs can offer him the $219 million contract this offseason and that's a lot of money to leave on the table.
In the end, just take it for what it's worth Spurs fans.
