This bit of San Antonio Spurs news somewhat flew under the radar this week.

Guard Bryan Forbes' deal with the Spurs has been guaranteed for the remainder of the season. January 10 marked the date when non-guaranteed deals became guaranteed for the rest of the current NBA season.

The second-year guard has scored 10-plus points 16 times this season and has led the team in scoring in two games. He's had a season-high in scoring with 22 points versus the Hornets in Nov.

In the summer, he proved his value at the Vegas Summer League. He was named to the 2017 All-NBA Summer League Second Team, leading all players who appeared in at least three games in scoring by averaging 26.0 points in five games for the Spurs in Las Vegas.

Through 43 games played this season, Bryn is averaging 7.5 points, 43% shooting from the field, 39.7% shooting from the 3-point line and 1.4 rebounds in 20 minutes per game.

In the month of January, Forbes is scoring 11.8 points per game and shooting 47% from the floor and 36% from the 3-point line through six games.

Though he is locked up for the rest of the season, he will be a free agent after this summer. And with the NBA being a 3-point league, expect a few teams to give him a look in the offseason.

Keeping Bryn will be in the Spurs' best interest.

With 3-point shooting at a premium this the NBA, his immersion into the Spurs' system, youth, and more, the Spurs should give him a hard look in the offseason.
