Spurs' Blossomgame to sign G-League deal
The San Antonio Spurs selected Jaron Blossomgame with the No. 59 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
After he was selected, initial reports had Blossomgame signing a two-way contract with the team. However, it appears those were inaccurate.
According to a new report, Jaron is allegedly signed to a standard G-League contract next season.
"Reports on him doing a two-way contract are inaccurate. Blossomgame will be in Austin next season, but on a standard G-League contract I’m told."
However, as of now, the Spurs are the only team eligible to sign him. Unfortunately for him, the roster appears to be nearly complete, so it would be hard for him to latch on this year.
If Blossomgame plays well in the G-League this season, it is certainly possible for him to find a spot next year. For now, it appears his long-term options are limited as well as his pocket book.
A two-way deal would have netted him a better pay day. Now, he'll have a standard G-League deal which is considerably less.
But for Jaron, focusing on his integration into the Spurs' system should be his top priority.
