The San Antonio Spurs throttled the Phoenix Suns, 129-81 on their first stop of their annual Rodeo Road Trip. With the victory, they bring their overall record to 35-21 on the season as well as boasting a 13-15 road record.

The Spurs were in complete control of the game from the start, outscoring the Suns 28-9 in the first and never trailed in the game. The Spurs biggest lead was 53 points but the game was marred by Dejounte Murray suffering a left ankle sprain in the second quarter. He did not return to the game.

The Spurs would finish with a 62-44 rebounding edge over the Suns and a 26-15 assist edge.

Here is a sampling of what the teams said after the game.

Spurs' Gregg Popovich on the team's win:

“We made shots. You make shots, things get easy. It’s not like we’re Golden State or something, we’ve got a lot to learn. We’ve got to keep trying to play our best basketball for 48 minutes."

Spurs' Danny Green on the win over Phoenix:

“We’ve been starting pretty slow in our first quarters. Tonight we wanted to come out with more juice and more focus. I just think we had a good pace and we started pushing the pace and finding each other and letting the offense come to us."

Spurs' LaMarcus Aldridge on the victory:

“We were just moving the ball, guys shooting with confidence, trying to let our defense make our offense. I think that was good for us. You’ve just got to focus on not giving in, not getting too comfortable."

Suns Head Coach Jay Triano on big loss to Spurs:

“We are, I think, obviously undermanned and they just walked all over us. They’re a veteran team, they play well and we had no answer. We had injuries before, injuries during the game where guys couldn’t continue to play, so it makes it tough.”
