Old-school summer treats
Summer may be coming to a close, but it's never too late to make homemade popsicles. Shelly is at Viola's Ventanas with owner Diana Barrios Trevino to kick it old-school with treats that the entire family will enjoy, and all you need is an ice tray.

Frozen Vanilla Milk Pops:
One 12-ounce can evaporated milk
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1. Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend for 30 seconds. Pour the mixture into ice cube trays. Cover with plastic wrap, and stick a toothpick through the plastic into each cube, to serve as a handle.
2. Freeze until firm, at least 6 hours, or overnight. Remove the cubes from the trays and enjoy.
Variation: Add 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon to the evaporated milk mixture.
