Lifelong best friends discover they are brothers
Two men who spent the last 60 years as best friends learned last week they are - in fact - brothers.
Walter Macfarlane said he turned to a DNA matching website to learn more about the family he never knew. His father was never in his life and he knew nothing about his birth mother.
Meanwhile, his best friend Alan Robinson was adopted and also searching for answers on a family genealogy website.
Eventually, the DNA kit showed Macfarlane shared his birth mother's chromosomes with Robinson, his lifelong friend.
The brothers say they now plan to travel and enjoy retirement together.
