Shocking Video: Man throws puppy over fence, breaking its leg

The Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office made an arrest in an animal abuse investigation in which a puppy suffered a broken leg.

The investigation began on January 3 when a man in a Ford pickup truck pulled up to the Animal Control facility at the Sheriff's Office and tossed a puppy over the 6-foot fence.

The 6-month-old puppy needed surgery to repair her broken leg.

The Sheriff's Office shared a photo of the possible suspect to the media. Days later, they had a man in custody, thanks to a tip from the community.

The suspect is identified as 34-year-old Jorge Samuel Hernandez. Detectives said he gave a fake name at the time of his arrest.

Jenny the puppy is being cared for at Nalas New Life Rescue and is recovering.
