Family outraged after video of child scared by Easter Bunny goes viral
A little girl's sheer terror at seeing the Easter Bunny has become a viral sensation, but her family doesn't find the video cute or funny.
Mary Bryson-Robinson is the 2-year-old's grandmother and says she dropped little Surai off at her daycare, Around the World Learning Center in Kissimmee last Thursday. When she picked her up later that day the center mentioned Surai was afraid of the Easter Bunny, but didn't elaborate.
Days went by and the video spread without the family's knowledge it even existed.
"When we did see it it already had gone everywhere. Any place you look on the internet my granddaughter is there," Mary said.
But little Surai's family didn't think there was anything funny about the video. They say it shows the toddler in fear for her life and no one helping.
The family says they even signed a form with the daycare, showing prior to the video, Surai's mother checked the boxes."declining permission" for her to be photographed in anyway.
Along with the millions of views also came comments on social media. People giving their own opinion of the video, something little Surai's family says has been heartbreaking.
"People use it as a racial thing. How people can you know black people are 'that' way. For a 2-year-old it is just agony to go through," Mary said.
The day care center says they are investigating the incident.
