Bullies leave plank nailed to 9-year-old's head
MANSFIELD, England (WKRC) - A mother in England says bullies threw a wooden plank at her autistic son.
The Daily Mail says the plank had a nail sticking out of it, which got stuck in the back of the nine-year-old's head.
Romeo Smith had fallen behind a group while walking home from school.
When the boy's father went to go look for him, the bullies had him cornered by a tree, threatening him with sticks.
As the boy and his father walked away, that's when the bullies threw the plank that got stuck in the child's head.
He was rushed to the hospital, where he was given morphine and the nail was removed.
"I don't know whether it had anything to do with his autism, but I think they did see him as vulnerable. If I could speak to the boys responsible I would tell them to stop bullying others. I would tell them to stop the name calling and the violence. I don't want this to happen to another child."
