A team of volunteers is stepping up to build a brand new home for 6-year-old Ryland Ward and his father Chris Ward.
The project will be called the "Three Angels Ranch" in honor of Ryland's stepmom Joann Ward and his two sisters Emily and Brooke. The three were killed inside the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs on Nov. 5, 2017.
"Just having a place to you know start a new chapter in their life, a place to lay their head down at night, feel safe, secure, comfortable," said Johnny Rackler of Jon Wayne Service Company.
He and others will be donating their services and materials to build the new house for the Ward family.
"That's what we're supposed to do that's what a community is supposed to do. You know you gotta give," said Wesley Hodge of Hodge Electric.
"They have donated their time, money, material to make this all happen," said Rusty Duncan, the first responder who helped rescue Ryland.
The volunteers from different companies met with Ryland and his dad on Tuesday evening to go over floor plans and ideas for the house.
They say it's brand new home for the family's continued healing.
Volunteers are also working to create a foundation. They will call it R.I.D.E., which stands for "Ryland Improvements and Developmental Education." They hope the foundation will help survivors of gun violence nationwide.
