SAN ANTONIO - The 1-year-old child of a murdered, pregnant teen shall remain in the custody of Child Protective Services, a judge ruled on Monday.

The child's mother, Jennifer Delgado, 15, was nine-months pregnant when she was shot and killed at her apartment. Armando Garcia-Ramires, 35, has been charged with capital murder in the deaths of Delgado and her unborn child.

Previous reports indicate Ramires was the unborn child's father and was also Delgado's stepfather at one point.

During the initial investigation, authorities also took a 9-year-old child belonging to Delgado's mother into CPS custody.

At Monday's court hearing, the children's lawyer said an uncle in Mexico has expressed interest in caring for the children, but no decision was made. Another hearing has been set for May.
