Tracking Harvey: School closures/openings for Monday, Aug. 28
The following schools will be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017:
Due to damages from Hurricane Harvey, lost power and water, all classes and activities are cancelled until September 5. Maintenance crews will begin assessing damages and cleaning campuses tomorrow, Monday August 28. We are in close contact with emergency operations personnel. At this time, it is unknown when power will be restored. Please continue to take safety measures with your families as we begin recovering from Hurricane Harvey.
The following schools will be open Monday, August 28, 2017:
ALAMO HEIGHTS ISD
Alamo Heights ISD plans to hold school during its regular schedule tomorrow, Monday, August 28th. Should something change, such as a power outage or the need for our facilities to be used as a shelter, we will reconsider this decision. Otherwise, school will proceed at the normal hours, including bus service.
EAST CENTRAL ISD
Unless torrential rain overnight occurs, school will continue as scheduled for Monday, August 28th. Stay tuned to social media for updates.
Edgewood ISD schools and facilities will open Monday August 28th. We will continue to monitor the weather situation to ensure safety for all of our students and staff. We look forward to the start of another great school year. If you have any questions please call (210) 862-9655.
Floresville ISD will have regularly scheduled classes tomorrow, Monday, August 28th. As of 4:30pm, TxDot and the Wilson County Sheriff's office have confirmed that there are no road closures in the FISD attendance zone. Currently, barricades are being removed from roads that were previously closed.
FORT SAM HOUSTON ISD
Fort Sam Houston ISD will begin school on Monday, August 28th following regular schedules, to include bus service. Although the roads are safe to drive on, there is still scattered rainfall in the forecast. Parents and staff are asked to be safe and allow extra time to navigate traffic on roads. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to those most impacted by the storm.
Great Hearts public charter schools will be in session tomorrow Monday, August 28th, at regularly scheduled times.
All San Antonio UIW locations, Incarnate Word High School and St. Anthony Catholic High School will resume normal hours of operation on Monday, August 28th. Please use good judgment if you are traveling from areas affected by the storm. Leave plenty of time to get to your destination, avoid low water crossings and find safe alternate routes. For information on roadway conditions, visit www.drivetexas.org. UIW Corpus Christi will remain closed until further notice.
School will start as planned Monday, August 28th. The start times for classes will be as normal, but we ask that all parents and students to be patient with the traffic at campuses as this is typically a high traffic day. It also will help if you choose to take your student to school to please let them off at the appropriate drop off location so they can stay safe. Buses will be running as scheduled, but we ask for your patience as well with bus runs as the weather and high traffic could be delaying factors with them too.
La Vernia ISD will resume classes with regular start and end times on Monday, August 28, 2017.

Northside ISD will open for the first day of school as planned on Monday, August 28th. Although the roads are safe, intermittent rain is still expected in our area. OUR LADY OF THE LAKE UNIVERSITY
OLLU San Antonio campus will return to regular schedule on Monday, August 28th. Students will hold prayer service, collection drive for victims of Hurricane Harvey.
PRE-K 4 SA
Pre-K 4 SA will begin its 2017-2018 school year as planned on Monday, August 28th. All four education centers will maintain regular school hoursand all buses will be operating per normal schedules and locations.
SAN ANTONIO ISD
All SAISD schools and offices will be open Monday, with normal start times.
SAN MARCOS ACADEMY
San Marcos Academy will have a 2-hour delayed opening on Monday, August 28th due to weather concerns.
SCHERTZ CIBOLO UNIVERSAL CITY ISD
SCUC ISD schools and facilities will open, as scheduled, on Monday, August 28th. Please be patient during the first day and week of school. Thank you for your consideration and cooperation as we start another great year at SCUC. We will continue to monitor the weather as the storm moves east. Somerset ISD will open at normal school hours for the First Day of School on Monday, August 28.

Southside ISD will be open for the first day of school Monday, August 28th. Please refer to the website for more information. Pending any other unforeseen weather concerns, Southwest ISD will start the school year as scheduled, on Monday, August 28TH. GONZALES ISD (Update)
Now closed Monday AND Tuesday
Gonzales ISD facilities and schools will be closed Monday, August 28th and Tuesday, August 29th. Please continue to monitor our Facebook page and website for updates.
Hallettsville ISD will remain closed Monday, August 28th. Sheriff Harmon has advised school officials that the Lavaca River will be at flood stage Monday at 1:00 and there are a number of road closures in the county. The City of Hallettsville has also issued a voluntary evacuation, effective immediately, for those people who live in the Lavaca River floodplain and lower lying areas.
We will monitor roads and conditions and continue to keep everyone posted.
Hays CISD is School is Canceled Monday, August 28, 2017
Due to inclement weather associated with Tropical Storm Harvey, all Hays CISD campuses are closed and activities are canceled on Monday, August 28, 2017.

KARNES CITY ISD
Karnes City ISD will resume classes on Tuesday, August 29tH.

LA VERNIA ISD
La Vernia ISD cancelled all classes Friday, August 25th on every campus. All athletic and school sponsored events are cancelled through Monday. Officials will decide on the cancelling Monday's classes by Friday.
Due to the continuing weather situation and elevated rainfall amounts in our area, the Luling ISD Administration has decided to delay the start of school from Monday, August 28 to Tuesday, August 29.

NEW BRAUNFELS ISD:
No school on Monday, Aug. 28 - 1st day of school postponed
Due to impending weather conditions, New Braunfels ISD has decided to postpone the first day of school. There will be no school on Monday, August 28, 2017, as originally planned.
We see this weekend's weather as the perfect storm. We are informing you today, so you will have more time to make any arrangements necessary due to this change. We anticipate the first day of school to be on Tuesday, August 29, 2017.
Please note that a few of our schools will be used as evacuation sites and will be hosting other Texans that have been displaced during this time. Due to this fact, we felt this decision was necessary.
NEW FRONTIERS PUBLIC SCHOOLS
New Frontiers Public Schools will close its district office and schools at noon Friday. School officials will monitor weather conditions over the weekend and make a determination by Sunday at 9 p.m. regarding classes on Monday, August 28. Updates will be posted on the school website, social media and sent via School Messenger.
Nixon-Smiley CISD is closed Monday, August 28th due to severe weather.
To ensure student and staff safety, Nordheim ISD has determined the need to cancel classes Monday, Aug 28th and Tuesday, August 29th. Wednesday, August 30th will be the first day of school. We will continue to monitor the weather and make updates as needed.
Pleasanton ISD schools will be closed on Monday, August 28th.
School cancelled on Monday, August 28th due to weather.
To ensure student and staff safety, Runge ISD will be closed on Friday, Aug 25th. We will be closed Monday, Aug 28th for students and staff. Because we want to ensure we have safe facilities when our students return, Tuesday, August 29th will be a staff work day. No students. Wednesday is the first day of school.
SAN MARCOS CISD
All campuses and offices will be closed Monday August 28th for San Marcos CISD. First day of school is now scheduled for Tuesday, August 29th.
St Michael's Catholic School in Cuero will be closed until Tuesday, 9/5/17.
Seguin ISD classes for Monday, August 28th are cancelled due to weather conditions. Students and employees are encouraged to remain safe during this closure.
Should changes to Tuesday, August 29th become necessary, Seguin ISD will announce the changes no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 28.
School has been cancelled for Monday, August 28th. Monitor local news outlets and heed warnings from authorities.
Stockdale ISD will be closed Monday, August 28th due to inclement weather, road closures and isolated flooding on county and FM roads.
TEXAS STATE UNIVERSITY:
Due to weather concerns associated with Hurricane Harvey, Texas State University has canceled classes for Monday, August 28, 2017, at the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses. The university will be closed except for emergency personnel in Finance and Support Services, the University Police Department, and Information Technology. Classes and normal business operations are scheduled to resume on Tuesday, August 29, 2017.
Select university services including residence halls, Harris and Commons dining facilities, and the Student Recreation Center will remain operational throughout the weekend and on Monday. The LBJ Student Center will be open with limited hours. Bobcat Shuttle service will not be available through Monday.

During heavy rainstorms, low-lying areas on the San Marcos Campus, including Sewell Park, are prone to flooding. Additionally, roadways near the university, including Sessom Drive, Comanche Street, Aquarena Springs Drive, and University Drive can block access to and from the university. Your personal safety is of paramount importance and we encourage you to exercise your best judgment during this weather event.
The safety of our students and staff is the highest priority at Yoakum ISD.
We will not begin school on Monday, August 28. We will continue to monitor road closures and keep everyone updated.
Staff members will be contacted by phone if they need to work. Teachers and support staff may come in if they wish.
We plan to get the network up and running Monday morning, barring more extreme weather conditions.
