Three accused of leaving children chained in back yard asking for separate trials

SAN ANTONIO - Three people accused of chaining two children in the backyard of Northeast Side house asked a judge on Monday for separate trials.

Cheryl Reed, Porucha Phillips and Deandre Dorch face first degree felony injury to a child charges for an incident that happened on Chipping Drive in Northeast Bexar County last year.

Two very young children were found in the back yard of a home in the middle of the night; One child was chained to the ground and the other was tied with a dog leash to a door.

While a lawyer has requested separate trials for the three, a ruling by the presiding judge has yet to be made.
