A neighbor who lives across the street from Navaira said he spoke with Navaira's wife shortly after she found him lying unresponsive on the floor in their home.
"He moved across the street from me about a year ago and just recently started working on his health," said the neighbor, who did not wish to reveal his name. "Every day he rode his bike, trying to get back into shape. He was such a nice guy and neighbor, too."
The New Braunfels Police Department states that its preliminary investigation determined Navaira died of natural causes, but said an autopsy would be performed. We'll continue to update this story as information becomes available.
