Strong show of support, respect for San Antonio police officers

SAN ANTONIO - Support for the San Antonio Police Department began to swell after news spread of a shooting that left one officer in grave condition and another in serious condition.

Officer Miguel Moreno, 32, who was shot in the head, passed away at 11:11 a.m. Friday while surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his mother, father, three sisters and a brother.

Officer Julio Cavazos, 36, who was shot in the chin, has under gone one surgery and is doing well. Chief McManus said Officer Cavazos may have more surgeries.

People began to share their thoughts and hopes on Facebook, many showing their support for the SAPD family.
