Two killed in small plane crash at Laredo International Airport, airport shut down

Two people were killed when a small plane crashed at Laredo International Airport Thursday morning.

According to a spokesperson for the Laredo Police Department, the twin engine private plane crashed on the airport grounds near the arena around 10:30 a.m. Thursday. The spokesperson said two bodies were found inside the wreckage and there were no survivors.

Officials from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are on their way to the scene. The airport is currently shut down.

Initially, it was reported that there may have been three bodies in the wreckage, but the medical examiner confirmed that there were two people killed in the crash.
