San Antonio man arrested, charged with murder in death of 16-year-old Laredo girl
Police arrested a San Antonio man in the investigation of the murder of a 16-year-old Laredo girl.
On July 27 at about 4 p.m., police received a call for a dead person found next to a jogging trail on Clark and Loop 20. When officers arrived, three witnesses led them to where the victim was. The witnesses were later identified as the victim's family members. The victim, identified as 16-year-old Leslie Sanchez, was dressed in workout clothes and her car was found nearby. The cause of her death is still under investigation.
Surveillance video from various businesses and homes and numerous tips led police to believe 24-year-old Mario Angel Gonzalez was a suspect.
Gonzalez was arrested on Sunday and charged with murder.
The investigation remains ongoing.
