San Antonio Fire Department to hold vigil on 1-year-anniversary of firefighter's death
SAN ANTONIO —
The San Antonio Fire Department plans to honor the life and legacy of Scott Deem, the firefighter who lost his life one year ago this week.
On Friday, the agency will hold a candlelight vigil at Alamo Plaza at 6 p.m. to mark the one year anniversary of Deem's death.
He died on May 18, 2017 while fighting a massive fire at the Ingram Square Shopping Center.
Emond Johnson, the owner who operated a gym in the strip center, was later charged with murder. Prosecutors say he set the fire that ultimately took Deems life.
