SAN ANTONIO - A driver was attacked and stabbed after the driver of a large box truck confronted him and blocked him on the access road of Loop 1604 early Wednesday morning.

According to police, the two drivers were involved in a road rage incident on the highway near Blanco Road; It's believed the driver of a maroon truck cut off the driver of the box truck.

They exchanged words and exited the highway, when witnesses said the driver of the box truck went around the maroon truck and blocked it. Both drivers then got out and confronted each other.

Police say the suspect driving the box truck pulled out a knife while the driver of the maroon truck pulled out a boxcutter that didn't have a blade.

The suspect stabbed the other driver and then drove off. The victim drove himself to a nearby urgent care facility for help. From that location, he was taken to University Hospital in serious condition.

The suspect has not been arrested, but police said they had several witnesses and hoped to track him down.
