Woman shot at Northeast Side apartment, police searching for ex-boyfriend
SAN ANTONIO —
Police say they are searching for a woman's ex-boyfriend after she was shot at a Northeast Side apartment complex Saturday.
Emergency crews were called to the 2400 block of NE Loop 410 (near Starcrest) around 11:43 a.m. Saturday for "shooting in progress."
Police say the 20-year-old woman was inside her apartment, when her ex-boyfriend showed up, began threatening her, and tried to force his way inside. According to investigators, the woman ran out the back sliding glass door, but the man was able to run around the other side of the apartment to the balcony and catch up with her. Police say he then shot her twice: once in the left shoulder and once in the left leg.
The woman was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center with "non-life threatening injuries," and police say she is in serious but stable condition.
Police say they know who they are looking for but did not provide a name or description of the man, other than a male in a black shirt.
