SAN ANTONIO -- A newly released San Antonio Police report is giving new details into the case of a 4-year-old girl who died last week.

Olivia Briones was taken to a police substation on Prue Road Tuesday afternoon by her mother. According to the report Oliva's mom told investigators her daughter did not wake up around her normal time Tuesday morning, and she left her in bed until she heard Olivia throwing up around noon.

The mother told investigators she carried her daughter from her apartment complex along the 105000 block of Huebner Rd. to a bus stop nearby by.

According to the report the girl's mother wanted to take her daughter to the doctor, but when Olivia stopped breathing she took her to a nearby police substation for help.

Olivia was rushed to University Hospital for treatment and died days later.

The report went on to say investigators observed bruising around her eyes, nose, and arms, and a large bruised area on her torso. The report also stated investigators observed abrasions on the child's feet and hands. A CT scan revealed Olivia had a severe brain injury and a collapsed lung.

When Olivia's mom was reportedly asked how her daughter sustained the brain injury and collapsed lung, investigators say she responded by saying, "I don't know."

The report adds the child's mother also told investigators she and her daughter lived at the apartment complex alone, and claimed she was the only person to be around her daughter since Saturday, September 2nd.

The Medical Examiner says the cause of Olivia's death is still pending. SAPD Homicide detectives continue to investigate the case.

News 4 San Antonio stopped by the apartment where Olivia's mother lives, Wednesday night, but no one ever came to the door.
