Missing Midland 4-year-old child found in Northeast Side hotel
SAN ANTONIO - A four-year-old child missing for almost one day was found at a Northeast Side hotel Saturday evening.
Officers from the San Antonio Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation found Caleb Andrew Tondre, 4, and his father Christoper Allen Tondre, 36, in a Hallmark Inn bedroom at about 6:40 p.m. Saturday, according to police and federal authorities at the scene. Christopher surrendered peacefully to authorities. Caleb was found unharmed.
Authorities issued an Amber Alert Friday night for Caleb, who was last seen in Midland, Texas wearing a lime green shirt, khaki pants and red shoes. He is currently in the custody of Child Protective Services waiting for his family to pick him up. Law enforcement officials believed he was in "grave or immediate danger" prior to finding him Saturday.
Christopher was driving a blue Kia Optima, but detectives were unable to find the vehicle at the scene. He faces charges of aggravated kidnapping and child endangerment. Christopher will be arraigned and will await trial in the Midland County Jail.
The Midland County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
