Man accused of leading police on high speed chase with children in car
SAN ANTONIO —
A man accused of leading police on a chase with his two small children inside the car is now behind bars.
Investigators say 24-year-old Darion Baldwin stole his girlfriend's car during a fight and two kids were in the back. Police say Baldwin’s estranged girlfriend told officers he was waiting at her apartment last week and jumped in the front seat of her car. The woman said she tried dropping him off but he assaulted her, grabbed her keys, and sped off with his one-year-old and nearly two-year-old in the back seat. Police said he was driving at a high speed and running red lights as they tried to stop him.
Baldwin faces Evading Arrest and Child Endangerment charges. He remains in the Bexar County Jail.
