Local soup kitchen needs volunteers, donations to feed the homeless
SAN ANTONIO -- A little-known kitchen in San Antonio keeps our homeless men, women and children fed, but now the kitchen is in need of help to keep it going. Valerie Finley, the Executive Director of St. Vincent de Paul, stopped by News 4 San Antonio's Evening Break to share why the need is so great.
Volunteers must be at least 18-years-old. They will help prep food, serve food and clean up. There are three volunteer shifts to choose from. Breakfast, which has the biggest need for volunteers, runs from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. The lunch shift is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and dinner is from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
St. Vincent de Paul is also seeking food donations and monetary donations. If you would like to donate or volunteer, call (210) 225-7837 or click HERE.
