Homeowner targeting coyotes accidentally shoots himself
SAN ANTONIO -- A man on the South Side who was shooting at coyotes accidentally shot himself Friday morning.
The accident happened around 7 a.m. at a property on the 3000 block of Rabel Road, near Blue Wing Road and South Flores Street. Police said the 32-year-old was attempting to stop the coyotes from attacking some chickens inside a chicken coop, when he accidentally shot himself in the leg.
A Bexar County Sheriff's deputy who arrived on scene applied a tourniquet to the homeowner's leg. The man was then taken by EMS to San Antonio Military Medical Center in stable condition.
