High-speed crash cuts utility pole in half
SAN ANTONIO - A driver cut a utility pole in half during a high-speed crash on the West Side early Sunday morning.
The accident happened just after 2:30 a.m. on the 7800 block of Highway 90 West near Pinn Road.
Police said the driver was speeding when he lost control, jumped the curb and hit a utility pole. After impact, the vehicle rolled several times through a fence and landed in a used car lot.
The lower half of the utility pole was cut in half, with the upper half hanging by the wires.
The driver was transported to University Hospital in unknown condition.
