Family of missing 81-year-old finds new clues in his disappearance
Pete Carreon, an 81-year-old veteran, has been missing from South Bexar County since January 20th.
His family believes the items he took with him may lead to new clues into his disappearance.
"We looked around the house to see what was missing to see what he took," said Nancy Santa Cruz, Carreon's daughter.
They believe Carreon took a television remote which he sometimes thought was a telephone. The family believes he had intentions of communicating with someone when he left the house.
He also took a wallet size photo of his wife, Esperanza Carreon.
"I want him to come back home," said Carreon, fighting back tears. "I miss him. I miss him a lot"
The Korean war veteran suffers from Alzheimer's and dementia. He left his home on North Addison Street in the middle of the night and never came back.
It's now been more than three weeks but search efforts continue.
"We're pretty much just looking for anything out of the ordinary," said Frank Trevino as he stepped over sticks walking through a wooded area near Carreon's home. "Looking for, hopefully, something belonging to him... A hat, looking for a picture, maybe a belt... part of a shirt.."
If you spot Carreon or have any information on his whereabouts, please contact the Bexar County Sheriff's Department.
