Dog bites down on owner's arm, punctures artery

SAN ANTONIO - Authorities confiscated a family pet responsible for severely injuring its owner.

Police say a man was letting out his nearly 200-pound Mastiff out of a kennel when the dog clamped down on his arm and punctured an artery.

The incident happened at a home on Silver Quail near Coral Springs early Monday morning.

The injured man was taken to a hospital for treatment and was reported to be in stable condition.

The dog was picked up by Animal Care Services and authorities said the animal could be euthanized. No other information was released.
