Cuero substitute teacher facing charges of improper teacher student relationship
CUERO -- 22-year-old Adrienne Rogers is accused of having an improper relationship with two Cuero High School students.
Rogers, police say, is now a former Cuero High School substitute teacher.
"She was arrested earlier this morning. She did turn herself in at the DeWitt County Jail. She was booked on two counts of improper relationship between educator/student," said Sgt. Kevin Kroos with Cuero PD.
Kroos went on to say she was arrested following two indictments from a Grand Jury.
"The allegations of this occurred off campus, didn't have anything to do with any activities or any contact at the school, or the school grounds, " said Dr. Ben Colwell, Superintendent of Cuero I.S.D.
Dr. Colwell went on to say this case is very different than those he's seen throughout his career.
"I don't think I've ever had the situation where one was in their early 20's and the other ones are 17 and 18 years old. When things like this occur there is no winner," the Superintendent added.
Cuero police say the investigation into Rogers is still ongoing. Kroos went on to say the former substitute has been issued a criminal trespass banning her from all Cuero schools and events.
Rogers has bonded out of jail, an attempt to contact her was unsuccessful.
