Interview with Councilman Alan Warrick:

Statement from Councilman Alan Warrick…

Last night I was out with a few friends at a place we have been to a few times before. While there someone slipped some type of drug into one of my drinks. This morning I woke up at City Hall with no recollection of what happened.
I spoke with the Express News today and encouraged them to write a story about this so that people can be aware that even if you are with friends and even if you are in a familiar place this can still happen to you or to a loved one.
I am grateful that I was not driving last night and that the security detail at City Hall found me and assisted me.
I chose not to go to the doctor this morning because I felt fine and had an obligation as a council member to attend the funeral services of Scott Deems, the firefighter we lost in a tragic fire last week.
Below you will find some tips on how to avoid this happening to you. I encourage you to share it with your children and loved ones so that nothing like this happens to them. I have read about this type of thing happening, but never thought it could happen to me.
My wife and I are grateful for the support of the community. I am safe and feel no after effects of the drug. I will be specifically grateful to you if you share this important information with other people so that nothing like this happens to them.
