Check out Christmastime in the Texas Hill Country!

Locals in Fredericksburg, Texas used to call this the 'Steamboat Hotel' because of the ship's bow front facing Main Street. Now it's part of the National Museum of the Pacific War and also a landmark in Fredericksburg's much bigger, festive holiday display of lights (News 4 San Antonio Photo / Randy Beamer photo).

One of the great things about living in this area is all the cool stuff to see and do outside of San Antonio - in the smaller towns and wide open spaces outside the city.

I took my camera up into the Hill Country to show you a unique lighted Christmas parade in Fredericksburg.

But if you missed that unique celebration, don't worry, there are still plenty of things there to get you into the holiday spirit.

For example, their 26-foot tall, five-tiered handmade Christmas pyramid in the Marktplatz.
