SAN ANTONIO —
Several workers from San Antonio are safe in Mexico following the deadly earthquake.
The City of San Antonio has one employee in Mexico City at the CASA building. Three other employees from San Antonio are also there. Their building was impacted, but no one was hurt.
The group was evacuated the day of the earthquake and they returned back to work Thursday.
“Today they were given the clearance to go back into the building and Mexico City has very strict protocol in terms of inspecting all the buildings and make sure they are safe and that people can go back into them,” said Sherry Dowlatshahi, Chief of Protocol, Head of International Affairs.
The University of Incarnate Word has faculty, staff and students at its campus in Mexico helping with collection efforts, donations and rescues.
