EARLIER:

Police say the man believed to be with two missing Round Rock girls whose mother was found dead over the weekend has been spotted in surveillance video in a southern Colorado town.

An AMBER Alert for 14-year-old Lili Griffith and 7-year-old Lulu Bandera-Magret has also been issued in Colorado. The AMBER Alert was discontinued in Texas earlier on Wednesday.

Terry Allen Miles, 44, is a person of interest in the death of Tonya Bates and the disappearance of her two children.

Bates was found deceased at her home on Dec. 31st, it's not clear how long she was dead. At a press conference Wednesday, Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks showed a picture from surveillance video with a Dec. 30th time stamp that showed Miles inside a business in Trinidad, Colorado.

The missing girls were not seen with Miles in the video. But Banks said police had received tips that the girls have been seen with Miles.

Miles is driving a gray 2017 Hyundai Accent with Texas license plate JGH9845. If you have any information on there whereabouts you are asked to immediately call police.

RRPD says the young girls could be with 44-year-old Terry Allen Miles, a person of interest in the death of the children's mother, Tonya Bates.

Police have previously said that Miles rented a room at Bates' home.

Round Rock police said they were called out to a home on the 2600 block of Leslie Court on December 30. Bates was found dead inside her home. Her boyfriend and a co-worker called police to check on her when they didn't hear from her.

Five pages detail the long criminal history of Terry Allen Miles.

"You look at this guy's rap sheet and you probably wonder why is he still in society?" said Sheriff Tony Mancuso.

Sheriff Mancuso talked to CBS Austin from his office in Calcasieu Parish in Louisiana. He says that Miles was arrested there at least seven times between 2006 and 2015.

"Most of his criminal history is domestic violence issues. So we know he has a temper problem and an anger problem," said Sheriff Mancuso.

Terry Miles has not been charged with any crimes in connection with the suspicious death of Tonya Bates or the disappearance of her two daughters. But a pornography charge from 2013, that was later dropped, has him concerned.

"I know that one of the arrests was porn involving a juvenile," said Sheriff Mancuso. "When we interviewed him for that it was a pretty disturbing interview."

Round Rock Police have also been in close communication with Police Chief Lewis Coats in Sulphur, Louisiana.

"It turns my stomach to think of the possibilities," said Chief Coats.

He says Terry Miles has a long laundry list of charges in cases the Sulphur Police Department has investigated.

"In 2015 we are investigating an alleged rape filed against him of a 13 or 14-year-old female," said Chief Coats.

He says Miles moved to Texas during the investigation, but the case is still open.

"A person should not be walking the streets being charged with those crimes," said Chief Coats.
