Suspected child abuser denies, admits child's allegations of continuous abuse
SAN ANTONIO - Police arrested a man they say sexually assaulted a young relative several times over the past year.
According to court papers, the young child accused Silas Wirth of molesting her several times at her home. She started avoiding him two months ago in an effort to stop the sexual attacks.
Investigators say as her mother was picking her up to take her home one day this week, she reportedly told her she was afraid of Wirth and didn't want to go home. That's when the girl described the attacks to her mother who then called for police.
When officers questioned Wirth, he initially denied hurting the child, then admitted to committing the crimes, then denied them again. Court papers state Wirth went back and forth on his answers and even tried to blame the victim, saying he tried to tell her no.
Wirth is now charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child.
