A vehicle stopped by Texas Department of Public Safety officers on I-40 in Carson County led to the seizure of 30 pounds of methamphetamine and a small amount of marijuana on Sunday.

According to officials, at about 1:05 p.m., a DPS Tropper stopped a 2018 Chevrolet Impala traveling east near Conway for a traffic violation. The Trooper then located luggage in the trunk with multiple bundles of methamphetamine inside.

The driver, Christy Bright, 55, of Fairdale, KY., was arrested. DPS Special Agents and Drug Enforcement Administration Agents responded to assist the Trooper.

The DEA agents charged Bright with felony possession of a controlled substance. The drugs were allegedly being transported from Phoenix, AZ. to Louisville, KY.

The incident is still under investigation by the DEA.
