Ants at front counter of San Antonio taqueria

Taqueria Guanajuato's entrance.

The Taqueria Guanajuato, 407 Vine Street, scored 69 on its latest inspection conducted by the Bexar Metro Health Department. A score below 70 is considered failing. Health inspectors found several violations, including:

  • Employees observed drinking, eating, chewing gum or using tobacco in areas where food needs to be protected from contamination.
  • Potentially hazardous foods stored in a refrigeration at 45-49 degrees, an unsafe temperature, the food had to be thrown out.
  • Raw meat stored above ready to eat foods, which could lead to contamination
  • And ants observed at the front counter.

Because of the number of violations and score, a re-inspection will take place July 12th.
