Talking Tech: Autism Lifeline Links
SAN ANTONIO - Autism is defined as a serious developmental disorder that impairs the ability to communicate and interact. As of now, experts say it can't be cured, but it can be treated.
And now, a local effort is underway to help those afflicted and their families.
In May 2016, the Kronkosky Charitable Foundation released the results of it's Autism Prevalence Assessment, and it determined that after diagnosis, families didn't know where to turn.
With the unveiling of autismlifelinelinks.org, that problem no longer exists.
The website promises to connect families with a care coordinator within 24 hours. It also gives providers, who serve individuals with Autism, a place to submit their information and help bring more stakeholders into the process.
